Aug. 2011

August 12, 2011:  We just got our formal notification that we have been approved for a foreign exchange student from Norway.  Her name is Else Marie Haukland and she will arrive on Aug. 28th. I facebook ‘friended’ her yesterday and we had a little chat.  I am really looking foward to meeting her!  There was another big storm last night, lost a few more big branches from the tree in the back yard.  But!  So far, the basement did not leak.  Don and Rod and some fo their guys from AWS worked on it yesterday and whatever they did seems to have worked - yay!  I got to skype with Avery last night but the audio wasn’t working very well, unfortunately.  She has made a new friend at her new school - yay!  I think the alternator is going out on my car so I took it to the Jensen auto place right down from where I work - they seemed to be very helpful last night, but, the guy today… well, I’ll find another place to take the car.
